Description

The lush design on this stainless-steel travel mug comes from William Morris's (British, 1834–1896) kaleidoscopic Blackthorn (1892), a woodblock-printed wallpaper in The Met collection. Morris was a prolific designer of lavish botanical motifs for wallpapers and fabrics. As the Arts and Crafts Movement's leading figure, Morris believed that beauty, imagination, and order were the necessary components of a strong design. He frequently looked to the English countryside for inspiration.

Helpfulness
Worked for about 3 months

I purchased this about 3 months ago as a souvenir of my visit to NYC. The other review about "design flaws" is very much on point: Mine is failing exactly as described in that review: The plastic nubs on the flip-top are failing and the lid is now hard to lock in place for travel.

Looks nice, though some design flaws

I bought this travel mug because I was looking for an attractive alternative to the basic ones I own. On the plus side, it is definitely the most attractive one in my collection. It's somewhat narrow and perfectly cylindrical, so it looks pretty slick I think. On the minus side, the pattern is not crisp and glossy like I was hoping -- matte and a little pixelated up close, but looks nice from a distance. The main negative is the lid, which is designed such that the plug part can pop off pretty easily when open. When seated in the fully open or closed position, it fits snugly, but I have a feeling these plastic nubs will wear down and this closure will be popping off more in the future. It can be a little annoying to reseat it when it pops out of position.
