Art History

Drawing on the spirit of the times to inspire his pieces in enamel and chased gold, Robin captivated the fashion world of the period. Marked as "bijoux sportifs," this jewelry of simple shape and fluid line in matte finish could be worn in more casual circumstances than in the jealously guarded, formal occasions of the aristocracy. Nineteenth- century designs from the House of Robin, such as the one on which our earrings are based, have deeply influenced jewelers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
