The Kunsthistorisches Museum lists this sculpture as "Woman Cutting Her Toenails" by Bartelemy Prieur c.1563. Please send me The Met's provenance card.
I broke my original copy of this little bather in the 1970s. It took me 40 years to find it again in your catalog! The little statue is an elegant, fine-lined little piece—the photo in your catalog makes it look “fatter” with less supple limbs than it actually has. (My photo attached is more true to life.) The catalog photo also makes it look like it might be missing a foot, when in fact both feet are delicate and intact._x000D_
I can't begin to tell you how DELIGHTED I am to have this exquisite little bather in my possession once again! Its small size makes it a tiny treasure.
