This pretty pendant necklace is based on an original magnifying glass designed around 1896–1908 by the visionary Russian artisan and jeweler, Peter Carl Fabergé (1846–1920). Fabergé's studios produced a wide variety of objets d'art, including magnificent jewelry, clocks, enamel cigarette cases, boxes, and frames. Among his firm's elite clientele were the last two czars of the Romanov family, for whom he made the most ornate pieces and the celebrated jeweled Easter eggs.

My mother bought this in red about forty years ago and used it very often. When she died in 2009 at 89 it became mine. I absolutely love it. Before the pandemic it came in very handy reading tiny print when away from home; we have larger hand held magnifying glasses at home. When we were in Russia in 2007 I bought a Faberge egg pendant that goes "with it" very well when I wear the egg on its own much shorter chain. It is an attractive piece of jewelry AND functions as a magnifier! It looks brand new; excellent condition after all these years of use.
I purchased this lovely pendant for a Christmas gift to my 96 year old mother. She loves wearing it daily as a pretty accessory to her outfit and she uses it discreetly to read the menu’s in the dining room of the independent living facility where she resides. The chain hangs at a fashionable length and the pendant/magnifying glass is large enough to be useful. I’m delighted with the Russian Imperial Magnifier Pendant.
