An art tee inspired by The Met collection.
William Morris (British, 1834–1896) was profoundly inspired by nature as it was depicted across cultures and through time. This exuberant pattern, which he called Wild Tulip (1884), references 17th-century Turkish brocades. Tulips, a species of wildflower indigenous to western Anatolia and eastern Persia, were received as exotic natural treasures when they arrived in 16th-century Europe. One of his 41 wallpaper designs, this motif in The Met collection is exemplary of Morris's late style. Our soft tee reimagines the coral color of the original in an eye-catching shade of purple.
